Bike Farm is an all volunteer-run collective dedicated to every aspect of bicycle education, from safe commuting to repair. Our mission is to provide a space where people can learn about the bicycle and build community around promoting sustainable transportation. We strive to demystify the bicycle in order to impact the city in a healthy and positive way.

Hello friends of Bike Farm!!!

This Thursday 7 people, 4 bikes, 7 backpacks and a lot of excitement will fill a mini-van and head down to San Francisco for Bike! Bike!, 2008. This is a national conference for bicycle maintenance collectives around the country. It’s a place to network, attend workshops, learn about how other shops work in other parts of the US, and generally have a good time! I (Ariel) and Becca will be presenting a workshop called “How to start your own collective”. There’s critical mass on friday, and a giant party at the Cyclcide junkyeard in Hunters Point Saturday night…. We’ll be giving a report back sometime in the near future and hope to gain new ways of doing things and keeping Bike Farm a-float.!
check out the schedule if you’re interested…!!

Join the volunteers of Bike Farm for a party this Friday, Sept 19th at 7pm in celebration of the new shop space! Food and drinks will be provided!

We’ll be leading a bike ride to the Crystal Ballroom at 8:30pm to promote bicycling as a sustainable means of transport to the Okkervil River Band concert. We’ll also be raffling off a bicycle powered sewing machine. Check it out!

we are still on for friday the 19th with the okkervil river band. please check the flyer in the post below for more information.
