we busted out the power tools again and worked on the “shelf of amazingness!” today. bike farm, you will be organized! oh man, you should’ve seen the sparks flying when we got out the angle grinder, which ended up to not be the best idea, but it was cool anyway! so, now we’ve got our chainrings up and organized by Bolt-Circle Diameter.
i noticed there’s an increasing market for companies to reassemble your bike after you ship it back from cross-country tour or to build it up after you ship it here to start your tour in oregon. to those who may be more mechanically inclined or who are on a budget (say the weather was inclement the entire trip and you spent more money on hotel rooms than you thought you would) bike farm can show how to rebuild your bike and go over it with you to check for damage in shipping (get that insurance claim filed!), we’d also be willing to instruct you in disassembly and packing your bike (we have several bike shops in a close proximity that have large boxes they’ll let you take off their hands).
basically bike farm is an amazing shop with an amazing staff of volunteers who are extremely dedicated to the promotion of sustainability, DIY-ethics and community empowerment. i mean, really, what the world needs now is love, sweet love! no, not just for some, but for EVERYONE! thank you hal david.
alright, enough of that hippy stuff! we’ve got some bikes for sale you should definitely check out! very conservatively priced! i personally like to take the trek ATB out in the back lot of bike farm, when there’s nothing else to do, and beast around in the dirt on it. it’s really fun, really smooth riding and if you threw some slicks on that puppy and got a rear rack (has the braze-ons for rack attachment) that could possibly be the best commuter and/or touring bike. no joke! also the schwinn paramount is a little piece of cycling history, with the “paramount design group” decals. i’m not 100% on this but it’s probably one of the asian import paramounts from when the demand exceeded production levels at the famous waterford, wi factory. also, it’s got these sick bent chainstays (part of the design that became a waterford cycles trademark) that are actually called “G stays”. it doesn’t get more “G” than that, lollerskates! related to that bike is the history of my underpants, which in the collection is a pair of “Paramount Design Group” cycling shorts. HOT!
come see our shop (and my cycling shorts) about the bikes or for anything your little cyclephile heart desires!
p.s. – find the secret hyperlink, tell me about it on the sunday shift and i’ll give you a free bike farm sticker!
