Bike Farm is an all volunteer-run collective dedicated to every aspect of bicycle education, from safe commuting to repair. Our mission is to provide a space where people can learn about the bicycle and build community around promoting sustainable transportation. We strive to demystify the bicycle in order to impact the city in a healthy and positive way.

General meetings are held every 2nd and 4th Tuesday, 7pm at Bike Farm.

What follows are the notes from this past general meeting on 12/28/10.

Attendance:
•    Jesse Bruce
•    Frank
•    Jeremy
•    Adam
•    Ashley

Agenda:
•    Check-in/Shop Talk
•    Frame Trade issue
•    Intake Coordinator

Adam hung up the fenders and suggests that a note be added to the outside sign saying we’ve got cheap fenders and helmets.

Jeremy expressed a need to store some of our excess inventory (eg tubes).

The cassettes and freewheels, while originally intended for Build Bikes can also be sold.

A couple times, new chains had been unboxed, used, but perhaps didn’t fit and we’re then left and not being able to be sold as new anymore.

VOLUNTEERS: please SELL the new items to the patron before they attempt to install and double check you are selling them the right part.

USED PARTS and TRADE (ups?) – We should stick to the sold as-is, no returns policy.

FRAME TRADE ISSUE

Basically it was decided that all parties did the correct thing. Shannon was unsure what to do and called other volunteers for input. Adam hit the list and didn’t receive any objections.

But, just because no one replied in time, doesn’t mean there weren’t any objections (there were). This issue should be brought up in a meeting.

Generally decided that this kind of trade shouldn’t really take place, but can be decided as they come and perhaps in a meeting not just through emails.

Trading for stand time is one thing, for other frames of equal or greater value is suspect.

INTAKE COORD

Basically someone to go over the donations, assess them, log their SS#, report it and put them away. Adam has been doing most of this, but we need someone to dedicatedly check the SS#. It was said that Shannon has volunteered to do this task but more needs to be flushed out as to what the process is and a regular time to do it.
